Trekking is another healthy activity that enables guests to venture into rural Bali for a glimpse at the island’s natural landscape. Kayumanis Ubud offers in-house guests a choice of two free trekking excursions that can be enjoyed either in the morning or late afternoon. Prior reservation at least one day in advance is essential.
The Bangkiang Sidem Trek is a relatively easy 45 minute journey that takes in the beauty of Ubud and its river valleys. It passes Balinese home compounds and rice terrace vistas finishing off at a point where a driver will be waiting to transport guests back to Kayumanis Ubud.
Alternatively, the Rice Fields Trek is a guided one hour tour through the local village and the surrounding countryside. Participants will see rice fields fed by a shared irrigation system as well as a collection of small galleries where Balinese artists display their own traditional paintings.
